Got a call from Domestic Home Care claiming my washing machine insurance was due to expire at the end of Feb. I told the bloke I already had cover on all my appliances. He called me daft for supposedly having double cover and wasting money. Kept using my name in a patronising tone, which I told him to cut out. Asked him to send me the renewal info by email, but he said if I was a real customer they'd already have my email. Then out of nowhere he said they don’t want to deal with “silly” customers like me and just hung up! Tried calling back but ended up stuck in a robot queue… this whole thing feels like a scam to me!

Picked up the phone and politely asked who was on the line. The person muttered their name and company, then asked for my flatmate. I told them they weren’t home and admitted I didn’t know who they were. Their reply was, “Look, I don’t care who you are, I need to speak to BLANK!” I chuckled and said, “Not with that tone, you won’t!” Then they just hung up.

Just got a ring from 01903 898893. When I answered and asked who was calling, they immediately told me to "F### off" before slamming down the phone. What a brilliant way to run a business! Seriously, are they actually getting paid for being so rude to potential customers? I doubt their bosses are listening in on the calls - if they were, they’d be cleaning out their desk faster than you can say “unprofessional.”

They called from a local number and demanded to speak with my husband by name. When I answered, they said they couldn’t discuss anything with me because of some "data protection" rule. Even after he gave permission for me to chat, they just ended the call. Seems dodgy, probably a scam.

This guy rang up saying my washing machine's warranty was up, beyond the initial 2 year guarantee I never even got. When I asked what make he thought mine was, he said Beko, I told him it was a Bosch. He insisted Beko makes Bosch machines and even told me to google it. I did have a look and there’s absolutely no link between the two brands. Honestly, after using the thing for roughly 7 years, I’m thinking I'd be better off buying a new one anyway.

So turns out it’s just some home care company for local stuff. I was pretty iffy about it initially, but I gave them a ring back plus had a chat with the manufacturer to check, and it’s all above board. Sorted a plan for my Beko cooker and even got it serviced through that. Cost me £78 for the year. Weirdly, now I’m hoping my cooker doesn’t go kaput for once!
