At first, I caught just a bit about some dodgy IP address and then I hung up straight away. After reading the comments, I'm relieved to find out it's exactly the scam I thought it was.

They kept ringing me over and over again, really annoying! Can't believe how persistent they were.

Got a recorded call saying my internet was hacked and I had to get a new router and IP address. I pressed "1" and got a young lady with an Eastern European accent, who kept insisting my system was vulnerable to attacks. Then I just hung up!

Got a call from them earlier - I picked up to see what it was about. Turns out they try to get into your computer and mess with your bank info to nick your cash. If you get a ring from them, best just hang up straight away!

dodgy phone call. its a robot message telling you that your ip address has been hacked or something like that. if it was legit, they’d say who they are, like your internet provider, say bt or something. the voice on the message sounded foreign and when you get connected to a 'tech support person' their accent is from far east. i always hang up as soon as i say “that’s a scam” because they never wanna listen after that.

If I can't get a straight answer out of them, I reckon I'll just disconnect my internet altogether. They keep throwing all these options at you but never reveal who they are. I've had these calls on numerous occasions, and to be honest, it's getting rather tiresome. The first thing they say is something like, "We've been attempting to reach you, and if you don't respond, we shall terminate your internet service, as it's been compromised in various locations." That's more or less the gist of what this foreign-sounding individual spouts. Utterly infuriating, and here I am, still connected perfectly well!
