01892710867 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01892710867 👆 is reported as a widespread employment scam involving fake companies offering attractive data entry or warehouse jobs at unusually high hourly rates without interviews. Scammers impersonate recruitment managers and send official-looking contracts, then pressure job seekers to pay inflated fees for bogus background checks via counterfeit websites. Victims report consistent patterns: missed interviews replaced by instant job offers, mismatched company addresses, and unresponsive contacts. The fraudsters frequently change names and company titles but reuse similar tactics, preying on vulnerable, desperate applicants. Many warn not to share bank, credit card, or personal details, advising immediate reporting to police and fraud authorities if affected. Vigilance, thorough research, and skepticism of offers too good to be true are essential to avoid falling victim.

Just stumbled upon an ancient email from Digital Seo, and it's a total con!

I got calls from a Simon Booth one June, then Tim Marshall in August. Honestly, don’t waste your time reporting to Action Fraud or the cops, they seriously couldn’t care less. These scumbags have been running the same scam all year, just switching names every other week. NOBODY gives that kinda cash for warehouse roles! If you gave them any info, make sure you sign up with CIFAS. Never got a penny from me, you little pests just target folks desperate for jobs.

WIA Logistics LTD 01413703063 Tim Marshall gave me a job offer back on 18th August 2016 but thankfully I didn’t go ahead with the SC1 Basic Criminal Background Check they told me to do on some site called [#]smarter-checks[###]. It was gonna cost me £100, what a complete rip-off!

Ian Davies was meant to do a phone interview with me but never showed, saying he was checking out some new office. He told me I had the job after talking with the director and, naively, I paid for a security check myself. Now I’m waiting on a contract that’s obviously never going to arrive. We even went to the address, but there was nothing there except a few houses. I’ve even quit my job, so now I’m left with no income and no position. Feel like a total fool.

I have just informed the Police in Sheffield about Ian Davies and Leslie Gilmour, and they said they’ll send it over to their Intelligence team. I also told my job coach, and she’s warned her entire team so no one else gets caught out. These lot are total sc#mmers!!!

Seems like this scammer has now moved onto the Newcastle upon Tyne area, cos the same thing just happened to me. Felt something off from the start. Thankfully I looked it up and found loads of similar stories here. It's really not fair that this kind of thing goes unchecked. Taking advantage of honest folk just trying to find a job is awful!

Thanks for sharng your experiences about digital seo and other fraudsters. I had a similar thing happen, but I was smart enough to look into the companies they claimed to be from. They offered me a job for just £13.50 without even talking to me first. Ian Davice sent a contract and I instantly knew no one legit would offer a job like that and say its super easy with pay like that, total joke. Avoid these scams at all costs. I never gave out any personal info for CRB or credit checks. Hope these scammers get what they deserve in the end. The number was 0203 8765166 - definitely fake.

Avoid this company at all costs. I told them I have a full DBS check but they just ignored me, didn’t even bother replying. Bit of a joke really. My contract says Data Entry Assistant at Provincial House, First Floor, New Walk, Leicester, LE1 6TU - that’s the address on there. Ridiculous.

I’m in the same boat as a few others here. I got their email and set up a time to call me back, but they never actually rang. What’s worrying me is that they have my phone number and address now!!!

I got an email from these guys yesterday and was a bit suspicious at first but ended up booking a phone interview through their website. I didn't put in any bank info but I did give them my email, phone number and address (including postcode). Anyone got advice on what steps I should take now since they have loads of ways to reach me?

I had the same experience. About three days ago, I got an email about a data entry job. They told me to schedule an appointment on their website but then cancelled it saying they had to visit some offices, and next thing they said I had the job. This morning, they sent me a supposed contract. Total scam! Which company hands you a job without ever meeting you or giving real contact details? I've reported them already.

they pulled the same trick as other scams - offering a fake job to my boss’s 17 year old daughter, who’s been looking for her first job. i just looked into it, and she’s really keen, so it’s horribly heartless. they really ought to be cracked down on. the website looks very professional, so it all seems legit, but they’re clearly profiting from other people’s bad luck!

Same here, got an email about a data entry role from Digital SEO offering £13.50 an hour. They said the phone interview was delayed because they’re moving to new offices or something! Luckily I searched them online first - classic case of sounds too good to be legit! I’ve since flagged their email as spam. The guy was called Ian Davies and the woman who was meant to do the call was Leslie Gilmour.

I got contacted by Digital SEO about a data entry assistant role, and Ian Davies told me he couldn’t chat today because he was out with the office manager checking the new office location. He even said he planned to ask the director to hire me without an interview. This seems like a total scam to me. If you get any calls or emails from them, just ignore and hang up straight away. They’re only after your bank details to drain your savings. Make sure you report to the police right away if Digital SEO has any of your personal info or bank details.

Someone called Ian Davies contacted me about a data entry position. I scheduled an interview but they called it off and insisted we talk only through email now. Honestly, who would offer £14 an hour after tax for admin work without even meeting first? Sounds like total rubbish. Massive scam if you ask me.

Like others here, I did a bit of digging and got the same results. In my situation, they actually sent an email to a contact, but it was very basic and definitely not something I'd agree to. I even drove out to the address they gave, and it turned out to be a pub! Thankfully, I never paid a single penny for the credit check. I googled the company behind the check and, to my surprise, the only place I found linked to it was the one in the email. Honestly, I hope these people get caught and face the consequences for scamming like this.

Hey everyone, just a heads up that they're now emailing more often and using the number 02038 765166. The names "Ian Davies" and "Leslie Gilmour" keep popping up. They've shifted to offering jobs but want you to visit SmartDisclosures[###] for a background check. The details they want are way too personal, and then they ask for a £100 payment to do the check. Seriously, don't fall for it.

I’ve been receiving emails from Digital SEO about a data entry role at an office they say hasn’t opened yet. Their website was offline for Digital SEO and I got the exact same email. When we set up a call, the guy said he was out inspecting some new offices. They even told me to hold off on other job offers until he got back. No apology or anything, just totally unmoved. Honestly, when I visited the website, it seemed really basic for an SEO company? Almost looked like a simple WordPress site. I’m glad I trusted that nagging feeling that it was all too good to be true and kept digging.

I'm currently hunting for work as I'll be out of a job by the end of next month. I got an email asking me to get in touch, so I set up a phone interview for last Wednesday. When I rang, I had to wait ages to get through. Later that evening, I saw an email saying Tim Marshall was too busy to chat. Then on Thursday morning, I got another email from him offering the job. It seemed legit, so I emailed back asking for more details. Thankfully, I hadn’t sent them any cash.

They’ve been pulling scams for more than a year, switching between company names. If you check out Quackers Outdoor Marketing and Madeem Recruit on YouTube, you’ll see what I mean.

Came across this site after the fact. Received an offer and felt unsure but down on my luck. Ended up giving the 'Smarter Checks' lot loads of personal info, though luckily not any cash. Now I’m in the middle of switching all my passwords and reaching out to the passport office. Honestly really shaken up and let down that folks mess about like this.

I sadly went ahead with it, even quit my job because I was desperate to be near my son for his GCSEs this year. My old job was pretty far away, and this new one was literally just a day’s move. I truly believed I was making the right choice as a single mum, wanting to be close to my kids, see them in the mornings, and get home earlier in the evenings. I was driven purely by desperation. I even paid up. I feel like such a fool and it’s really wrecked me mentally :(

I actually ended up taking the plunge and even quit my job because I was desperate to be near my son for his GCSEs this year. My old job was a fair distance away, and this new one was literally just next door, so I thought as a single mum it was the right choice to be close to my kids, see them in the morning and get home early. I went all in out of desperation. I even paid for it. I feel like such a fool and it's really taken a toll on me mentally :( The number I was dealing with was 01753376494.

My other half got a call from this KKJ Logistics place with the exact same story, interview over the phone that never took place, and then they just offered the job. Said it was urgent because others hadn’t turned up and wanted him to begin straight away!!! Total con!!!

I reckon these leeches probably scrape job boards where folks upload their CVs for employers, then nick personal info straight from there. Targeting people huntin for work, especially those desperate to get hired, is just so dirty.

This is awful and hard to believe. I just went thru the comments here and ive had the exact same thing happen to me. The only thing is Tim Marshall is running KKJ Logistics too, coz i got the same email replies, no interview, a contract sent over and they asked me to do SC1 checks as well.

They've switched their number once more. Just got a letter from them lately with a great job deal paying 13,50. They're still calling themselves KKJ Logistics. The new number is: 01603 672 146. Ugh. I was proper chuffed about the job chance. But like always, "if it sounds too good to be real," it usually is.

I can't believe how cruel some people are. Me and my partner were over the moon thinking we might actually save enough for the mortgage we’ve been dreaming of because of the pay they promised. It all looked so genuine! It’s really frightening knowing that folks who don’t look into these things properly are handing over their cash and risking their jobs and earnings because of this!

KKJ logistics - I've just flagged them as fraud, everyone else should to. It's not legit, I've been through the same bad situation. Avoid doing your own credit check with them!!! (not this phone number i'm talking about)

I’ve just told the fraud dept about these lot - you lot should really do the same. It’s not legit, I had the same crappy experience myself. Seriously, don’t bother doing a credit check with them!!!

I've never actually spoken to anyone or met up, and whenever I ring the number given, it's just music playing like you're on hold, then the call cuts off or you can leave a voicemail but no one ever replies. It all feels like a very smart but nasty SCAM. I really hope others don't get caught out by it. I was lucky because some things didn’t seem right, so I looked into it and found out the truth before I sent any money.

I've never actually spoken to anyone or had a face-to-face with them. Whenever I called the number, it just played hold music endlessly then cut off, or allowed me to leave a voicemail but no one ever returned my call. It all points to this being a pretty smart but nasty scam. Honestly, I just hope others don’t get caught out. I was fortunate because some bits didn’t feel right, so I looked into it further and discovered the truth before handing over any cash.

Got an email from Leslie Gilmour about a job offer paying £13.50 an hour. I looked into everything, even showed the info and contract to my neighbours but still couldn't spot the scam. Then I Googled smarter checks and wham, found this site. A regular check costs about £40, not £119! That really set alarm bells ringing. Seriously, don’t be daft, always double-check stuff. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Lost a whole day’s pay waiting for a call that never came. Hope those scammy bastards get what they deserve.

After looking into the smart checks, I found that a typical one usually runs between £26 and around £43. But their so-called smart checks page is charging a whopping £100! Plus, they've never actually phoned me, only sent texts. When you add everything together, it just doesn’t make sense.
10 years
so then we get to the so called smart checks, and from what ive found the usual basic check costs around 26 to 43 quid but their link for the fake smart checks site shows a price of £100. when you put all this together and remember ive never had a call, just texts, it all seems fishy.

Havent got a call myself but my other half got loads of dodgy texts and emails from this lot, lucky i looked into it before going ahead with any security checks. I phoned up action fraud and told them what’s going on, and the bloke there reckons the fraud squad might already be onto them. They keep switching up their names constantly, as soon as i told him what was happening he cut me off and asked if it was from some logistics company, i said JJK, and he said oh yeah, now they use a different name.

Just wondering if anyone who actually paid for the SC1 (which I really feel sorry for) had any luck afterwards? Did they just go quiet or kept stringing you along with stories like "we’re still waiting for the payment to clear" and that sort of thing? Also, did anyone ever receive anything at all from smart(er)-checks, or was that a dead end too?

The £13.50 hourly rate seemed dodgy right from the start. Loads of folks said I’d be daft to pass it up, but I thought I'd give Mr Tim Marshall a quick email anyway. Oddly enough, I couldn’t get a reply from his address. Seems like the scam's probably run from the States, especially since they say "vacation" instead of “holiday” - bit of a giveaway if you ask me. It’s a shame some people have already forked out for this supposed check or even quit their jobs over it.

Reading through these posts I cant help but notice how similar they are to what ive gone through. These folks are definitely scammers, looking to take your cash. I really urge you to get in touch with Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or simply visit their website to report it. The more details you provide, the better chance they have of catching these crooks fast and making sure they face the consequences. Dont wait, the sooner you report, the better.

They originally used an email address but now they’re claiming to be from KKJ - sounds like the same old story, probably realised folks aren’t as gullible so they switched up their name. Aside from that, it’s all the same as what happened before. I was honestly buzzing about the interview, but it turned out to be a complete waste of time.

For everyone commenting here, Gary Cheetham might be a genuine name, but think twice - it’s definitely not the actual name of the con artist(s). Just last month the name used was Jamie Hart. If it was that easy to catch them, these scams wouldn’t still be happening. Most likely the owners of those websites have had their info, maybe even bank card details, stolen by these crooks.

Watch out, these people are total con artists! They try to trick innocent folks into handing over their personal info, probably so they can misuse it or even steal your identity. Seriously, be cautious and if they do get in touch, make sure you report them to the police straight away. Don't let these lowlifes get away with it!

Right, so the genuine Smart Checks website says a simple SC1 check costs £25, correct? And then this idiot, Mr Cheetham, just goes and copies the whole website, making a fake Smart Check site that charges £100 and keeps the money for himself? Surely the real Smart Check firm has grounds to take legal action against him for this nonsense?

Same here, got an email saying they came across my CV and asked me to schedule a phone interview. Then after that, they sent another email and a text saying the interview couldn’t happen but they'd be in contact. Next day, I got ages worth of email with a contract saying I got the job without even having an interview! Then they asked me to fill out SC1 form and pay some fees. Cheers to everyone for sharing their experiences!

I just got a quote of £43 including VAT from this number: [#][#]carecheck[###]/
10 years
Well, from what I got in that quote, if the job offer is real, anyone should be able to get their basic background check from any provider they choose, not necessarily Smart-Checks. Surely, as long as they ask for a basic check and you give them one that meets their criteria, the company it's from shouldn't matter. And as far as I can tell, the carecheck firm does cover everything they ask for anyway!
10 years
Hey, does anyone here know if there’s another place besides this smart-checks website where you can ask for the basic SC1 checks? Cheers!
10 years
I’ve dropped an email to this supposed Tim Marshall to let him know that even if I did buy the SC1 check, there’s no way I’d be able to get it to them before their cut-off date of 29th July. The thing is, I don’t have the funds upfront - money doesn’t just magically appear, we can’t all afford to splash out. That’s the whole reason I’m interested in the job anyway. If this is a scam, which honestly I suspect it is, then whoever’s behind it are nothing but crooks who deserve to be locked away for good - and that’s putting it mildly!

Just a heads up, the DBS basic check costs about £26 and the advanced one is £44, plus admin fees and VAT. But smartcheck wants almost four times that amount. Sounds a bit dodgy to me.

So, this morning I finally got my contract offer through, but when I rang them, it was just endless hold music no matter which option I picked, and then after about 13 minutes the call just dropped. I’ve shot them an email but don’t hold your breath for a reply. They did send me a text saying they’ve emailed the offer as well. I had a look on smart-check and here’s what their fees are: SC1 Checks available - 5 Days turnaround = £100.00 12 Days turnaround = £90.00 20 Days turnaround = £80.00

One thing that seems a bit off to me is that I’ve never had a single phone call or face-to-face meeting with anyone from the company. Feels kinda weird if they’re supposed to be a real company or if the job offer’s genuine, don’t you think?

Just like loads of others have said, I got in touch by email telling them I'd already got a valid DBS check which includes fraud offences so wondered what was supposed to happen next? Surprise surprise, not a word back! Honestly, it's so obvious this is a scam from the beginning. For anyone new reading this, DO NOT hand over any cash to these firms or similar ones. If you've already parted with money, make sure you tell the police. They take these things seriously and I hope they do something about it soon. All the best!

What a load of crooks! They basically handed me a contract without us even chatting or meeting face-to-face. It all looked proper convincing, to be honest, and I nearly fell for it until I stumbled upon this site. They kept saying the new branch would launch near me in about a week, and their emails with all those documents looked so official that I was on the edge of accepting. At first, I was genuinely excited about landing the job, given how professional their messages seemed. These scammers really need to be shut down for good!

So I had a proper look into this and found that Gary Copson, 47, was running a GJC logistics firm in Rugby, Warwickshire, but that company got closed down back in 2013. Then there’s another GJC logistics in Dukinfield, Manchester, with the director called Gary Cheetham, who’s 38 and still listed as active. Weird thing is, when checking the company files, both of them show no assets at all - absolutely nothing. The company’s value is also zero. Seems odd for a business claiming to provide loads of logistics services, don’t you think?

Got contacted by the same number, and they sent me an email claiming some Tim Marshall wanted to arrange a phone interview for a job. The dodgy bit? They used a photo of a bloke called Jamie Bell, who actually died back in 2013! It's honestly heartbreaking and gross at the same time. Someone really needs to get these scammers shut down quickly!
