01887292024 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01887292024 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance number primarily linked to various scam attempts involving bogus warranties and insurance for home appliances and boilers. Callers often claim the recipient is owed a refund or needs to renew a policy, despite no prior contact or legitimate coverage. The callers frequently use foreign accents, provide inconsistent information, and disconnect when questioned. Many recipients decline to answer or block the number after receiving no voicemail. The consensus urges reporting such calls through official police fraud channels and contacting local MPs to push for better caller ID authentication measures to combat spoofing and automated scam calls. Blocking alone is ineffective due to the use of multiple fake or cloned numbers. Caution and informed action are strongly advised.

I tried calling but it didn’t ring long enough to actually pick up, like the auto call never even started. Just ended up unanswered.

If you look a couple of comments down, you’ll find clear steps on how to deal with these scam calls and texts. With the sheer number of people in the UK getting targeted daily, if even a fraction start reporting and taking action, the police and government might actually put more effort into stopping these criminals. Don’t just leave it to someone else. It honestly doesn’t take much time. I’ve bookmarked the ‘action fraud’ site and even dropped an email to my MP - got a rather ‘interesting’ reply too. But it’s pointless if only a few of us bother.

Boiler insurance for home systems? What a con!

I've never shelled out for any sort of coverage like that, so I can't see how I'd be eligible for a refund at all!

They started off just checking my name and where I live, which seemed normal enough. But when they suddenly wanted my date of birth, that felt a bit dodgy. I reckon they only really had my name and my mobile number to go on.

I got a call from staynholiday.com, and the bloke on the phone was quite polite, asking if I'd like to have my home featured on their site. I think we chatted before about it, but I never really took up the offer. Not too sure what they're after this time though.
