Got a call from someone claiming to be with the TPS, asking if we were still getting unwanted calls. He assured me we'd never get any again, which set off alarm bells straight away. Surprisingly, he already knew my name and that we pay by direct debit. Then he asked for my card details to “confirm” my identity. When I questioned why TPS would need that info, he kept pushing it was just for verification. He said he’d call back while I grabbed my card details. I just hung up instead.

About ten minutes ago, i got a call from this number claiming to be the TPS. They said they knew I pay by direct debit and then asked me to confirm the expiry date on my debit card, which they said was 2018. Problem is, i dont use my debit card for my direct debit payments. I just ended the call and tried ringing them back, but the number was unrecognised. Definitely felt dodgy to me.
