Got a bunch of calls today, at least half a dozen, always hanging up as soon as I answered. Then, finally, the classic scam line: “I’m with BT and your computer’s infected.” Bit rich, since I’m in IT security and he got cut off in under 10 seconds. Seriously, don’t be fooled. Whether it’s BT, Microsoft, or anyone else, they won’t just ring you up about viruses. They don’t have the slightest clue. That bloke probably tried sneaking some nasty malware onto my machine for sure!
