The voice on the other end sounded quite advanced, responding to my inquiries with a level of fluidity that was almost convincing. Yet, it soon became apparent that he was merely regurgitating a set of standard phrases and pitches. When I suggested it seemed like a robotic interaction, he expressed his apologies and mentioned he was new, merely following a script. However, it struck me as odd that his delivery was consistently monotone and repetitive. Honestly, I’m 99% certain it was some form of AI at play, though a tiny part of me wonders if it could have been an actual human.
