I’m keen to get my funds returned as this appears to be a con.

I received a call from someone insisting that I had applied for a loan, to which I firmly told him I hadn’t. Despite my repeated denials, he continued to assert that I had. Frustrated, I hung up on him. He then attempted to reach me three more times, but I rejected the number each time and have now decided to block it entirely.
