We came across a matching ring that had "Jack" inscribed on it. She requested us to investigate the term "eventvwr". The second and sixth letters, she mentioned, corresponded to "v for Victor". We inquired about the best time to ring them again, and she handed us the number 01865 521091. However, we decided against making the call.

I received a call with the same ringtone as 'Windows Server'! I've noted down their details and have reported it to the Telephone Preference Service.

I received a call from this number earlier today from some company claiming our laptop had been compromised and that they were a Windows support team ready to assist. It all felt rather dodgy, so we decided to disconnect and let them guide us through the Windows diagnostic tools to check for any potential threats. As it turned out, they eventually tried to sell us the LogMein Rescue service. The moment we declined, they abruptly ended the call. We ran thorough scans on our computer afterwards, and thankfully, everything seems to be fine.

I recently received a call from someone claiming to be representing Live Windows. They insisted I power up my computer. When we requested a contact number to verify their legitimacy, they provided us with this number. It's quite concerning, to say the least!

I received a call from this number earlier today. The company on the other end claimed that they had detected a virus on my laptop and were offering support for Windows. It felt rather dubious, so we disconnected the call and decided not to engage with their suggestions of using a Windows diagnostic tool to check for issues. As the conversation continued, they tried to pressure us into purchasing a LogMeIn Rescue service. The moment we declined, they abruptly backed off. It’s worth noting that I have no intention of scanning my computer after that experience.

Received a similar call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be with Microsoft. They insisted that my computer was compromised and offered to walk me through the supposed fix. I firmly told them I wasn’t interested. When I mentioned I planned to format the computer, the caller said that wouldn’t resolve anything. By the end, she seemed quite frustrated and abruptly hung up.

I recently received a call from a firm claiming to be a worldwide computer services provider, and the person on the other end had a name very similar to Markel. It was supposedly based in Oxford. I initially went along with the conversation, even though I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service. However, things took a turn when they asked me to send a text for a free inquiry and began chatting about firewalls. We simply stated that we would consult our IT expert and give them a ring back!

I've just received the same kind of call and I'm rather sceptical about it. The English spoken was quite questionable and honestly, the callers didn’t seem trustworthy at all. They claimed to be from Windows or something similar. Is there anyone out there who knows the right place to lodge a complaint? It’s quite unsettling, and we’re baffled as to how they obtained our details. I'd appreciate any insights on whether this issue has been dealt with.

These individuals are quite astute; it takes a lot to pull the wool over our eyes. Nonetheless, we’ve gone ahead and cancelled all of our cards just to be safe.

I recently received a call from someone who sounded quite anxious, and it turned out to be Rick Jones at the other end of the line. We tried to return the call, but they refused to engage in conversation with us. I suspect it might be linked to our inquiry about how they obtained personal information. They had previously contacted “Support for Computers” and mentioned that they were receiving messages similar to those one would get from Microsoft. I'm absolutely convinced this is a scam.

I recently received a call from a company by the name of Global Computer Maintenance, claiming to be based out of Oxford. Oddly enough, the person on the other end had a name strikingly similar to Markel. We humoured them for a bit, even though we’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service, until they started rambling on about entering some free SMS query and then shifted the conversation to firewalls. At that point, I decided enough was enough and told them I’d consult with our IT advisors before getting back to them!

I just received an incredibly similar call. The person claimed to be from a tech support team, warning us that our computer had been compromised. They said their name was Jack, but their grasp of English was quite lacking. Naturally, we felt quite wary. We told them that we hadn’t experienced any issues and firmly stated that we wouldn't be granting access to our computer to someone who rang out of the blue. We pressed them on how to verify their identity, insisting that we needed to do some investigation first. They were quite tenacious but eventually took their leave.
