Had a dodgy phone call with someone purporting to offer medical alert systems at a discounted rate. They also said they were with an insurance firm. It's clear they're just fishing for bank information!

On the 6th of September, 2024, my mother, who is quite elderly, received a phone call from a number that claimed to represent Medi Alarm 247. Unfortunately, she was persuaded into signing up for a pendant alarm, and to make matters worse, they had her pay for an entire year upfront via direct debit. I genuinely hope that by sharing this experience, others can steer clear of a similar situation.

I chose not to answer the phone, and the caller didn’t bother leaving a message, which certainly doesn’t make it a pleasant interaction.

Received a call at ten past three this afternoon. Our answering machine always kicks in. As per usual, they left no message, so I presumed it to be just another nuisance or scam call and went ahead and blocked the number.

I got a phone call from this number today at just after half past one. The caller introduced herself as Lisa and spoke about lowering my maintenance fees. However, the moment I heard that, I decided to cut the conversation short and ended the call.

I received a phone call from 01865519441, with the caller claiming to be from Domestic and General.

It appears to have originated from a home appliance business, claiming that my warranty is nearing its end. I urge you not to respond, as it seems to be another deceitful attempt to harvest people's banking information. Quite perilous indeed!

I got a rather odd call at half past two this afternoon from someone claiming to be ‘Lisa’. She started rambling on about my home appliances, but I thought it best to end the conversation there and simply disconnected.
