Some bloke called claiming to be Christian from Medical Alarms and asked if I owned the house. It was obvious right away it was a dodgy sales call, nothing to do with any medical stuff. I told him I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list and told him to stop ringing me or I’d report him for harassment.

Loads of folks have commented with similar experiences. I told them firmly we didn’t want any assistance but the caller just kept pushing, trying to squeeze out details about us. I quickly realised it was a con and hung up straight away. Be careful and never share your personal info or names with these people.

I got a call from this number on Tuesday 19th January around 5.15 pm. When I picked up, there was complete silence on the other end. I ended up blocking the number after that.

Then he handed me over to another bloke who couldn’t even get my name right, and that guy just hung up on me. Glad to be shot of them. Never had that sort of scam before.

I told him I wasn’t, but he just went on like “oh perfect, then I’ve got the right person!” I asked if he was even paying attention, but he just kept rattling off the usual spiel even after I said I’m definitely not who he thinks. Really sounded like a dodgy recorded message, total scam if you ask me.

The caller rushed through his introduction, mentioning a peculiar situation where I supposedly had three alerts registered against my name. He insisted that I had requested information about medical alerts, but as I attempted to clarify that I had made no such request, he dominated the conversation without letting me speak. Frustrated, I simply ended the call. After noting the number here, I discovered that several other elderly individuals have also been approached by this same source. It's quite unsettling, especially as we're currently responding to a barrage of calls regarding virus vaccine appointments. What a concern!

I got a call from someone named Christian, but it sounded like a recorded message because even after I kept saying I wasn’t the right person, he just stuck to his “script.” He was trying to sell some kind of medical alert device. Then after a bit, he said he’d put me through to a bloke called “Mike,” thinking I was interested or something. That’s when I just hung up and ended the call. It went on for about 5 minutes, and I didn’t agree to anything at all. Just watch out for these calls, especially now, lots of folks are really easy to be tricked.

A chap reached out to me, aiming to peddle a 24-hour emergency call gadget. He claimed he'd provide the device at no charge but insisted on a rather steep monthly subscription. From the outset, it felt a bit dodgy if I’m honest. I decided to throw a few questions his way, curious about where they sourced their information from and why this gadget wasn’t available through my local GP. Curiously, he completely brushed my inquiries aside and just ploughed on with his rehearsed spiel. Without getting any clear responses from him, he attempted to transfer me to a colleague to get me signed up, at which point I figured it was best to cut the conversation short and hang up.

It could well have been a legitimate offer, but as an octogenarian, I've been inundated with at least six scam calls lately. Just now, on Friday the 15th, I got a call from a bloke, maybe called Christian, saying he was from Medical Health. He was offering a free alert pendant but then said it’d cost a few quid. I told him straight away I wasn’t interested, but he kept going, wouldn’t let me speak at all. After a while, I had to say again I wasn’t interested and just hung up, that was the only way to stop him. Weird thing is, I’d called my GP earlier and the doctor phoned me back about two hours before this call, so I thought Medical Health was connected to my GP.
