Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, saying my broadband had issues in the last couple of days. I asked for more proof since I didn't know the number and then the call just stopped.

This happened to me too, a thick Asian accent and they were chatting about issues with my BT service. Funny thing is, I’d just been on the phone with BT less than half an hour earlier to report a broadband fault. They tried to get me to type a ‘run’ command into a search bar, which made me hang up straight away. After speaking with BT, they told me it was a scam call. Apparently, genuine BT operatives always send a text message before ringing. Got me wondering if somehow BT’s fault reporting system is being watched by scammers?
