He claimed to be a cop from HMRE but his accent didn’t sound English at all. When I asked him about income tax, he just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some bloke with a foreign accent claiming he was from HMRC. He told me there was a warrant out for my arrest because I hadn’t paid my taxes. Honestly, I just chuckled and he sounded pretty annoyed, asking why I found it funny. I told him I don’t owe any tax anyway, and if there was an issue, the tax office would definitely send me a letter rather than calling me on my mobile. Then I just ended the call.

Got a call from a woman whose English was dreadful, similar to what others have said. She reckoned I owed some tax from the year 1970, which is daft because I was serving in the army then and never had any tax issues. Then she tried to say I owed £1987.00. I quickly told her to shove off. Definitely a scam.

they've phoned me a bunch of times lately, twice just today. at first, they said they were from hmre, but now when i pick up, no one says a word. honestly, it's getting really annoying, mate.

This number, 01843613485, has been ringing me all week claiming to be from HMRC saying I'm under arrest. Tried to reason with them, told them HMRC only contacts by post, but they just hang up on me. Now I just hang up straight away every time they call. What a nightmare! Gonna block them for good. Definitely a scam - don’t pick up or give them any info!

I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC. They wanted me to give personal details, saying there was an arrest warrant for me. It was obviously a scam because HMRC would never ask for that info on the phone.
