Received a call purportedly from Virgin/02 about upgrading my SIM card. They asked me to verify my email address, which I refused to do. They then offered to provide me with a contact number for a callback to ensure their legitimacy as Virgin/02, but before I could respond, they abruptly disconnected the call. Quite suspicious, I must say!

Received a call from this number yesterday. I've got no acquaintances in the Clopton region, so I reckon it's either a spam call or a dodgy spoofed number.

I tend to ignore calls from numbers I don't recognise. However, I’ve noticed quite a few searches linked to this particular number, which has only deepened my concerns that it might be a scam.

“I received a call purporting to be from O2, but I don’t have an account with them. Someone earlier mentioned they got a call from ‘Virgin Media’. It was quite noisy on the line, with a lot of chatter in the background, which leads me to believe it was just some dodgy call centre fishing for responses.”

I received two calls from the same number, only the last digit was different between them. When I answered the second call, there was complete silence on the other end, so I hung up immediately. Very strange!

Received a call from someone purporting to be from 3 Mobile, insisting they were aware of my status as a 3 customer. However, I’m not due for an upgrade at all. I was in the process of ending the conversation when they abruptly hung up on me first! Quite the cheek!
