Got a call from some automated voice saying it was from Visa or Mastercard. They were saying something about £600 being taken from my account just 15 minutes earlier and told me to press 1 if I wanted to sort it out. Obviously, I just ended the call straight away. The number showed an area code from a tiny village up in Northumberland but when I tried ringing it back, it turned out the number didn’t exist. Proper dodgy stuff, anyone not paying attention might easily get caught out!

Got a call from some automated voice pretending to be Visa or Mastercard saying that £600 had been taken from my account about 15 mins earlier and to press 1 for help. I just ended the call straight away. The number showed an area code from a tiny village up in Northumberland, but when I rang back, the number was bogus. Honestly, this is a nasty trick for anyone who might not be paying attention!
