Total scam, no doubt. They called me by my name so I played along and said "Wait a sec, he's just walking in now." They stayed on the line for like 9 minutes before finally giving up. Hope it racked up a huge bill for them!

Picked up the phone and the caller, sounding foreign, asked for someone by name. I thought I'd have a go and told them they'd reached the Police Fraud Squad - they looked baffled and kept asking for that same person. Had to tell them to hang up if they weren’t reporting any fraud, but they clearly didn’t get what I meant, probably not from the UK and had no clue about the word ‘Fraud’. Went right over their head. Best avoid this number, surely just scammers.

Like others have said, I got a call from some life review team, they already knew my name and started talking about life insurance reviews. I just told them they were ringing a number that's on the TPS list and asked them to remove my details from their system. Was polite and said goodbye before hanging up. Could still hear her mumbling a bit after I put the phone down.

They claimed to be from the life review team, working for firms like Legal & General and a few others, but I could barely make them out. The noise in the background was really loud, which made it tricky to catch what they were saying.

Got a call from this number today while I was out having coffee with mates. The guy claimed I’d requested a life insurance quote, which I definitely never did. Told him I wasn’t interested but he kept pushing, so I eventually hung up. Just caught him saying ‘I’ll call again’. My phone can’t block numbers yet but the next one I get sure will. Talk about a thick Scouse accent!

Got a call from a guy who sounded like he was African. Same story as others have said here. Pretty clear he was trying to get my bank info to nick my money. It definitely felt like a scam and they even used a landline number to make it seem legit. Best thing is just to hang up straight away!

I answered with a hello, asking who was calling, and the Indian bloke just says “hello” back. I snapped at him, asking what he wanted, and he went quiet for a sec, said that wasn’t very polite, then just hung up.
