3 yearsI had just ended a call, apparently from Windows, when my phone rang again almost straight away. This was actually the third time in a row I'd gotten calls like this. All seemed to be from someone named "Sue," warning that my computer had been hacked. I'm pretty sure all three were connected.Sue3 yearsSome bloke pretended to be from O2, my mobile provider. I told him I knew it was a scam, and he just hung up on me.3 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be with Santander.Santander3 yearsHad a call from someone claiming to be with “the financial claims team”. Instantly blocked their number.3 yearsSome bloke claimed to be from the "housing maintenance team," but I told him he wasn’t, and he just ended the call.3 yearsGot a call from a woman who introduced herself as Sarah, although it sounded more like 'Sara'. She went on about some PPI that’s supposedly arriving in the post on the 30th of September, related to payments made from 2013 to 2020. She claimed to be representing Intelligence Claim Ltd, a company that went into insolvency back in 2022. Apparently, I should be expecting another call from their verification team regarding my 'claim'. When I inquired about which specific PPI loan or credit card this was concerning, she claimed the line was dodgy and asked me to repeat my question. The amount being discussed is a whopping £3,692. This is the second time I've dealt with something like this in just two months!SarahSaraIntelligence Claim Ltd3 yearsSome bloke called Roy claimed he was from Windows and was ringing about my computer. I told him straight away we didn’t have one, but he insisted we did. When I asked how he knew, all he said was that he just did. I asked to speak to whoever uses the computer, but again I told him we don’t have one. I then told him I was hanging up because it clearly sounded like a scam!Roy3 yearsGot another ring from this number today, but they didn’t leave any voicemail. Feels like it might be one of those scam calls.3 yearsThey use stolen info to prey on people who are struggling, pretending to be a loan business. I've noticed scammers often ring from numbers in London or Scotland, acting like some loan firm with a random name you can't find anywhere on the internet.
