I got a call from that Ascot 0900 number earlier today, same one exactly.

Got a recorded call claiming to be from the BT tech team, saying my internet was about to be cut off today. They wanted me to press a button to chat with BT tech or another one for a different company. The voice was a woman with an American accent, which seemed off. Plus, it came from a normal landline instead of an 0800 or similar BT number. Don’t hit any buttons - just drop the call. If you’re worried about your connection, just ring the customer service number on your contract.
