Whenever I get a call from a number I don’t recognise, I let the answerphone pick it up. This last time, all I got was dead silence, so I figured it was just another spam call.

I got a call from a woman claiming there was some sort of irritant in our loft insulation and that they needed to set up an inspection. When I asked which company she was with, she just said some energy hub that works with various surveyors around the area. I pressed for the actual name of the energy hub, but instead she started going on about water blown spray foam. I pointed out I didn’t ask about the material, just the company’s name. After that, she just gave up.

Some older woman rang me up, said she was some sort of energy advisor. She insisted she got my contact from energy companies and was offering insulation deals to homeowners. Wouldn’t tell me her real name or what company she’s with. When I asked how she got my phone number, she dodged the question completely. Definitely dodgy - steer clear of that one!
