It’s quite disappointing that BT appears to turn a blind eye to this type of nuisance caller. It seems the spammer is cleverly masking their true number using some sort of tech wizardry, and BT won’t lift a finger to address it. It’s a shame that a major company like BT seems so indifferent to the way their systems are being exploited for dishonest purposes. What a letdown!

Had a right dodgy call from some bloke trying to pull a fast one. Definitely a scammer!

They were aware of my name and the registration of my car, but clearly had a script they were grappling with. Eventually, they identified themselves as being from something like the "Emissions Office" or a name that sounded rather close. The moment I pressed them to clarify their purpose, they hung up. I can only surmise this is part of some dodgy class-action scheme revolving around diesel emissions.

I experienced something very similar myself. The woman on the line was aware of my name as well as the registration and model of my car. She then proceeded to inquire if I owned any other Vauxhall or Mercedes vehicles. When I requested her to clarify which company she represented, she abruptly terminated the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
