Got a call from some call centre claiming it's about my life insurance with AIG. The weird thing is I’ve never had any policy with AIG at all.

Picked up but no response after waiting ages, then heard a "hello" that seemed like it was from one of those call centres. They probably dial several numbers at the same time to check who picks up, which would explain the wait. Ended the call and blocked.

I've been getting calls from this place for about 4 years now - yeah, FOUR years! They always want to speak to a Mrs Walsall. I've told them over and over to remove my number from their system. Each time they promise "yes, we'll do that" but then, a few weeks later, they ring again. It's driving me mad. Just now, they called again and I shouted, "Enough is enough, stop calling me and take me off your list immediately!" I hope they actually listen this time, but honestly, I’m not getting my hopes up. Honestly, the best way I’ve found to stop these pests is to tell them off in the rudest way possible. I swear, once you do that, the calls just stop every time.

For two days running, I’ve had calls from them. They were quite eager to chat about the TPS and why they reckon it doesn’t cover them. One chap claimed you’ve got to re-register with TPS every six months - he said he knew this because he used to work there. The other caller told me I should get in touch with TPS to complain that they’re not doing their job properly. Both seemed to quite enjoy a bit of a debate! :) I told them firmly to remove my number from their list and to stop calling me as I don’t want them bothering me anymore.

This number has contacted me a couple of times about financial stuff, which I found confusing. The voice sounded like a woman, possibly with a Welsh or Indian accent, claiming to be from the Refunds Department in Swansea. I quickly used 1471 to check the caller ID. My husband then searched the number online and stumbled upon loads of other people complaining about it too. We even dug out our old “Phone Book Companion” from the 90s and saw that 81 and 83 are Swansea codes but 82 wasn’t listed, so maybe it’s from a newer residential area? Hopefully, someone will be able to trace this number down.
