I got a call from a woman with a strong Indian accent claiming she was ringing from Beneficial. I have absolutely no clue who they are or where they got my number from, but somehow she knew my full name. When I told her to take me off their calling list and that I hadn’t given my permission to be contacted, she just ignored me and kept going with what sounded like a scripted spiel. I mentioned GDPR and said she was breaking the rules, but she acted like she hadn’t heard of them. Ended up cutting the call short and blocking the number straight away.

Got a call from a really harsh woman, sounded like she was shouting over loads of noise from a call centre. Then they rang again just to tell me that we aren’t on the preference list and called us liars. Worst of all, they threatened to share our number with loads of other people so we'd get even more calls. Absolutely awful experience.

Who exactly benefits from this? I'm so sick of telling these callers from Asia that I’m not going to answer any questions. I asked how they even got my number since it’s ex-directory. They just keep talking over me, so today I got annoyed and talked over them in return. Of course, she hung up before I could finish - no shock there. Today’s number was different from the last time too. Blocking is useless because it’s bound to be a new one tomorrow. Isn’t there any control over these call centres?

Annoying really, Beneficial's now using a Swansea number but I bet they'll switch to Cardiff next or even Nottingham soon. I've had loads of calls recently so I tried to opt out through their site. Then I rang 0125 3808409 hoping to stop it all. Also filed a complaint with OFCOM and contacted their data protection officer by email. Will it actually do anything? Not sure... Maybe if enough people get in touch at [email protected][###], we might have a chance.

I got a call from this woman with a really heavy Asian accent, claiming she was from some place called Beneficial. She wanted me to go through four questions to supposedly stop any future calls. I told her to stop cutting me off and to actually listen, then made it clear I wasn’t interested in answering anything. Like others have mentioned, you get that fake busy call centre noise in the background with the typical Indian accent. When you block or don’t answer, they just hang up and leave that weird static noise on your voicemail. Best thing is to just keep not picking up, they’ll eventually stop.
