Some bloke called Josh Bowland rang me from this number, claiming to be from Consumer Energy and trying to sell me grants for central heating. I told him to stop wasting both our time, but they just don’t seem to care! What’s the use of signing up to the TPS if these calls keep coming through? Proper irritating and a real invasion of privacy!

I didn't answer the phone but I called 1471 to check who it was. After having a look at this site and reading all the reviews, I’m really happy I let it ring out!

Hopefully this isnt one of those scams! They’ve sorted me out with a government grant to get central heating installed. They team up with Calor Gas and Ive already had a couple of engineers come by. So far theyve been really polite, proper professional and totally upfront with everything.

Got loads of annoying calls about swapping our combi boiler, saying there’s a grant but we’d need to cough up £698 plus VAT. When I said no, they just kept ringing back non stop.

They actually knew my name and claimed to be from Consumer Energy. I told them straight up it was a scam, but they kept pushing back. In the end, I just told them to stop calling me and blocked the number.

Asked for my name + dob, and also my son's name + dob (which i naively handed over). Fingers crossed they haven’t got any bank info. The bloke on the phone was quite convincing (not a Welsh accent, i reckon) - number pops up as dodgy when i checked. Is there anything that can actually stop these scams? I get loads of them. This one seemed more legit than most and really should be shut down.

I had a rather peculiar encounter with someone named Rang, who claimed that he could arrange complimentary installations for electricity and gas courtesy of the council. Quite odd, really. He proceeded to inquire whether I resided in a rural area, and upon clarifying that I did not, his enthusiasm seemed to vanish. What struck me as even more unsettling was the fact that he already had my surname at hand. When I pressed him for an explanation, he mentioned he got it from some database connected to insurance renewals or similar. It certainly gave me the impression that he might be on the lookout for vulnerable individuals, perhaps targeting those living in more isolated locations for potential scamming. Quite alarming, to say the least!
