I've previously put this number on my blocked list after receiving several calls but no voicemails. Today, however, they left a message about installing a smart meter. I’m quite bewildered, as I haven't made any such request to my energy supplier, Igloo. Obviously, this number is staying blocked indefinitely. If this is genuine, I'm rather disheartened to think that Igloo Energy may be sharing customer information with third parties without permission.

I received a rather intrusive phone call from a company claiming to deal with smart meters. Quite perplexingly, I have no idea how they obtained my details, as I certainly haven’t shared them. The moment I inquired about how they got my name and number, the caller promptly disconnected the line. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

They said they were calling from Igloo Energy, so I got in touch with Igloo to check. Turns out Magnum is the company that actually does smart meter installs for Igloo, and they do have a call centre based in Swansea - so this might actually be a legit call.

This isn't a scam, the number belongs to Magnum Utility Company. They come out to fit Smart meters for different gas and electric firms. Just pick up and if you’re not interested, politely decline! I got a smart meter fitted by them through my energy provider Igloo Energy. There was no pushy sales tactics, I chose to go ahead myself. They're a completely legit company.

Picked up because it showed Swansea and I was expectin a ring from DVLA, they asked if I was “Mrs Parsons” which i'm not, so i said no, ended the call and then blocked the number.

Just to let you know, this number belongs to Magnum Utilities who are working for Igloo Energy. Igloo gave Magnum their customers' info so they could push smart meter sign-ups. Magnum kept ringing me with automated calls every single hour, for days straight. It got really annoying and felt like harassment. I’d suggest complaining to Igloo, and also filing a report with The Telephone Preference Service and OfGem.
