Used to work for this firm, its mainly cold callers trying to sell energy contracts. Not a scam but the callers have to push alot and deal with objections aggressively. The whole thing is outsourced, you can easily get the same price and switch in like 2 mins through the official company site. If you're not interested just hang up straightaway, its better than moaning at the person on the phone.

ESB Energy tried to sell me a cheaper gas & electric plan. I said yes, thinking I could always cancel within the cooling-off period. But after doing a proper online price check, I found out my current supplier was actually cheaper for the exact same usage. If I stick with ESB's suggested monthly payments over a year, I'd end up owing about £300 more by year's end. Honestly, be careful before taking their offer - make sure you understand your actual gas & electric consumption and do a thorough comparison online before switching.

I had a chat with someone named Luke saying he was with ESB energy offering a discount, so I went for it. But the very next day another bloke rang from a mobile, claiming to be from ESB too and said that Luke’s number was dodgy and no one called Luke worked there.

I get around 8 calls each day plus loads of voicemails saying I need to ring back urgently. It’s some energy firm trying to scam folks. They claimed they can get me a better deal than the energy supplier registered at my home, which is weird because the energy account isn’t even under my name. I told them to take me off their list but the calls just keep coming non stop for weeks now.

So I called this number, it just rings with no reply then suddenly cuts off. I tried again and some bloke picks up saying “hello mr smalltits”. I’m like, who on Earth is this? All I could hear was them talking about gas and electric. I told ’em my meter’s faulty and the gas meter’s been frozen at £9.23 credit for about 10 years since I moved in.
