I received a rather peculiar phone call regarding life insurance. The caller claimed I held a policy with Legal and General and suggested I was overpaying. However, my actual coverage is with a different firm altogether. When I probed a bit further, he reiterated that my premiums were too high and that he could secure me a better rate with my current insurer, provided I shared my sort code and bank account details to facilitate a direct debit. I expressed my reluctance to divulge such sensitive information over the phone and made it clear I wasn’t interested in altering my life insurance terms. At that point, I could detect a hint of frustration in his tone as he pressed me for reasons behind my hesitance to accept his proposal - it felt a touch pushy. Nonetheless, aside from that slightly uncomfortable exchange, he maintained a friendly demeanor.
