Got a call from someone claiming I was insured with Legal and General and that I could get PPI back. Total rubbish, so I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call about life insurance where the guy claimed I already had a policy with Legal and General, saying I was overpaying. Problem is, my life insurance is with a different firm entirely. He asked me some basic stuff then insisted I could save money by staying with the same provider and just switching my plan. He wanted my sort code and account number to set up a direct debit there and then. I told him I wasn’t comfortable sharing bank details on the phone and didn’t want to change anything just now. He seemed a bit annoyed and kept probing why I wasn’t interested, which felt a bit pushy. Other than that, he was quite polite and friendly enough.
