10 yearsI keep getting calls from this number, despite having already told them that I reside in council accommodation.11 yearsI received a call from this number, and while someone did chat with me, their accent was rather foreign. It sounded like they were having a conversation with a coworker, what with all the background noise and clatter from their call centre.11 yearsI recently had a call from someone claiming to be a 'Grant advisor', but the conversation wrapped up rather quickly. I’d recommend you give it a go too!Grant12 yearsReceived a call from this number, but as soon as I answered, it was silent on the other end. I reckon it's one of those call centres, as I've been inundated with similar nuisance calls. I’m on the do-not-call register, so it's quite baffling!12 yearsHad a rather cheeky call from a lady with a Welsh accent who claimed they were giving away free grants for loft insulation. She wanted to know if I had any already, which immediately set my alarm bells ringing. I asked who was on the other end and she fumbled around, merely stating, "a grant company." When I pressed for the name, she finally muttered "Nationwide Energy," but you could tell she wasn’t too sure. When I inquired about their address, her response was that she didn't have a clue! I pointedly remarked, “So you trudge off to work every day, yet you’re unaware of your own premises?!” So, being my usual self, I said, “Well, my brother would be very interested, he’s out in the garden right now, let me fetch him.” I then promptly set down the receiver by the phone, poured myself a drink, kicked back, and switched on the tele. After a good ten minutes, I began to hear a timid voice attempting to break the silence with “Hello….? Hello….? Hello…….?” I continued to enjoy my programme for another ten minutes (twenty in total), with numerous “Hello….?”s echoing in the background, until she finally relented and hung up. For the record, I have neither a brother nor a garden! This has become my go-to tactic for dealing with pesky telemarketers. It does a marvellous job as they never seem to call back. Plus, I consider it a public service since, a) I'm wasting their time and money (they foot the bill for the call), and b) while they’re tying up the line waiting for my imaginary brother to saunter in from the garden, they can’t harass other unsuspecting souls. The company is purportedly called Nationwide Energy Services, and my trusty reverse phone directory indicates they’re located in the Morriston area of Swansea. Quite curious how the caller seemed oblivious to that, isn't it? steer clear of them!Nationwide EnergyNationwide Energy ServicesMorristonSwansea12 yearsReceived a missed call from this number twice, but it only rang a couple of times. When I tried to ring back, I was met with an automated message stating that the office was closed. Strangely, there was no mention of any company name, and unfortunately, I couldn't leave a voicemail either. The details I've found on this site have been quite useful, so thank you! Best, BettyBestBetty12 yearsI received a call on my mobile from a chap inquiring about the homeowner - apparently, he was touting a government grant for a new boiler installation. It’s left me quite curious about how he acquired my number!12 yearsI'm absolutely fed up with these incessant callers bombarding my phone. It becomes even more frustrating when I'm on tenterhooks waiting for a crucial call from the hospital.13 yearsIt must be rather disheartening to dedicate your day to phoning up individuals and spewing utter nonsense! Quite the exasperating lot, aren't they?13 yearsI've been receiving calls from this number multiple times each day over the last couple of months. It's become quite the nuisance! I wonder if someone could devise a way to give them a taste of their own medicine?13 yearsI've received no fewer than ten or a dozen calls from them now. Thankfully, I've got a phone that reveals the caller's number, so I can simply ignore them. Frankly, I can't be bothered to tell them to bugger off-after all, I do try to uphold the decorum of an English gentleman. Though, I must say, it’s a welcome diversion from the usual conversations with some techie from Bangladesh ringing me up to say my Windows is in disarray and riddled with viruses! Goodness knows what they'll come up with next!Bangladesh13 yearsI keep getting calls while I'm fast asleep, and then, as if that wasn't enough, they ring me again three hours later!13 yearsReceived a rather curious call on my mobile today. I picked it up, and a gentleman was on the line, inquiring directly for me. He claimed to be checking in to see if I’d received my new boiler yet. Apparently, he mentioned that the government had instructed all gas and electric firms to replace every faulty boiler, otherwise they would be facing hefty fines. When he probed whether my accommodation was rented or owned, I replied that I was renting from the council. He then informed me he would be emailing my local council to say I was eligible for a new boiler and that some grant was awaiting me. Quite peculiar, he hung up immediately after!13 yearsThroughout the entire Easter weekend and into the day and night, my phone hasn't stopped ringing from them. At least I've figured out their identity now, so I’ll be sure to give them a piece of my mind next time. Fingers crossed!14 yearsANNOYING TELEMARKETERS! I truly hope your days are filled with nothing but frustration and hardship.14 yearsI had a rather frustrating encounter with someone purporting to be a “government grant adviser,” who, in reality, was pushing loft and cavity wall insulation. Despite my assertion that we had completed this work years ago and that it couldn’t be done again, they pressed on, querying how I could possibly know this. When I pointed out that cavity wall insulation can’t be topped up and that our loft was not only insulated but also converted, their attitude shifted to one of rudeness. “Why didn’t you mention that sooner?” they snapped. Additionally, I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so I’m baffled as to why they’re marketing their services to me-surely that’s against the rules? It seems like they must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel for business!Telephone Preference ServiceSubmit Your Own Report (01792 720230)
