I received a rather peculiar call from someone who introduced himself as Steve, supposedly representing Microsoft. He asserted that my computer had been implicated in sending out spam messages to the US. He warned me that if I didn't take immediate action, I could expect a dreaded blue screen on my device. What made the whole situation even more unsettling was that he actually knew my name. Quite unnerving, if you ask me!
