I got an email from jeantr11@hotmai[###], which claimed to be from Stirling Council about a BACS remittance advice. I’ve no connection with Stirling Council at all. When I looked up the phone number, I saw loads of similar reports. Be careful and don’t open any attachments!

When I rang 01786 233187, all I got was a message saying “please enter your mailbox number.” It kept looping like that. Also, the email linked to it was jeantr11@hotmaill###], which seems a bit dodgy to me.

Received a call from 01786 233187 with an email supposedly from Stirling Council saying I had a BACS refund coming. The email was from kford250987 @outiook{###] which looked dodgy. Double-checked and the number isn’t Stirling Council’s actual contact. Definitely don’t open anything attached to that email!

got an email saying i was owed a refund. figured it could be some kind of scam. i checked the number they used and it def seems dodgy. i didn’t open the attachment and just deleted the email straight away.

Got an email earlier today from jdohare@hotmail[###] saying I was due a payment through BACS from [email protected]. One thing that gave it away straight away was they actually misspelled “credit”! The phone number was the same, and they included a fake remittance advice to download, probably packed with malware. Watch out for this scam!
