Got a call from some window firm saying they had government funding to swap out windows if they were over 4 years old. When I said no thanks, they switched gears and began pushing guttering and fascia instead. Bit annoying really.

Received a call from this number this evening, with the caller going on about government-funded schemes for new windows. I interrupted her straight away, mentioning that I’m on the Telephone Preference Service and my number is ex-directory, so how on earth did they manage to get hold of it? I appreciate the offer, but I'm not in the market for new windows, thank you very much! It’s high time these unsolicited calls were put to an end.

So this company called, something to do with windows, and weirdly they actually knew our names. I just ignored the rest once I heard who it was though. But seriously, how are they allowed to phone us when we’re on the telephone preference list? Doesn’t make sense!

It’s high time someone took action against these thoughtless individuals making incessant and bothersome calls, particularly when it’s so distressing for older folks. Honestly, I wouldn't trust this window company enough to purchase even a single nail, never mind any new windows from them.

Received a call from a local number that I didn’t recognise. I generally steer clear of answering calls from numbers I can’t identify. They didn’t bother to leave a message, so I'm guessing it’s just another pest trying to sell something or conduct some pointless survey. I’ve made it a rule not to pick up calls from unknown numbers for the past four years, and I intend to keep it that way.

The individual on the other end claimed they were representing a government-backed programme. However, when I probed for more details, they backtracked, stating it was merely an "industry" project with no connection to the government whatsoever. This feels quite deceptive. It seems like they're merely fishing for a way into people's homes to push their sales agenda.
