Got a call where all I could hear was really heavy breathing, super quiet. Then after a bit, the person just hung up without saying a word. Honestly, felt pretty odd.

round my way, they’ve been booking slots to hand out a complimentary "emergency response kit". this kit includes devices meant to act as burglar alarms linked through the phone line to their monitoring centre, working even if no one’s home. plus, they’re offering a no-cost medical alert pendant for folks aged 60 to 85. sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? I’m quite sceptical about this ‘free’ offer.

My elderly mum got a call from this number and the person said they were from a burglar alarm firm. They asked if she had an alarm system already and seemed to know her name and where she lives (I reckon they got it from the phone book or electoral register). They even tried to book a time to come round and talk about installing one. I’m a bit worried it might be some sort of scam.
