I got a call from someone saying they were with some local crime watch group or something. Turned out to be a dodgy scam trying to get me to pay for a home security setup. When I tried to grill her a bit, she just cut the call straight away.

I got a call from someone claiming to be fitting security alarms for folks aged 50 to 85, supposedly for just a quid. They said the system lets you call for help without dialing 999, like for a break-in, fire, or ambulance. When I asked how it was paid for, they insisted it was only a pound. I pointed out that surely installation and upkeep can’t be covered by £1, so where’s the money coming from? Then they just ended the call. Proper dodgy if you ask me.
