Got a call from an Asian guy who was just shouting swear words and being really nasty. Then, not long after, I got another ring but there was nothing on the other end except a quiet silence followed by a quick "bye". Weird day.

I got a call from a guy who said he was Peter, claiming he was from BT. He told me my computer had been hacked and said he could see my IP address was compromised. Then he asked who my internet provider was, guessing Virgin, TalkTalk, or Vodafone - none of which are right. He told me to check my computer and when I asked him for the IP number, he just hung up on me. The call came from a number in Staines, London? Honestly, sounds like a scammer to me.

I answered the call and there was this weird silence for a bit, then all of a sudden an automated voice came on just to say ‘goodbye’. Quite strange!

This number has rung me up three times now, with a woman speaking with a foreign accent claiming she’s from BT. She asked me to switch on my computer so she could supposedly assist with some internet issue. I’m pretty certain it’s a scam to get malware installed or something dodgy like that. When I told her I’m a PC expert myself, she just cut the call straight away.

Some woman with a foreign accent called me asking about my BT internet and if I had any issues mentioned on my last bill about the connection. I said I don’t even have BT internet and then just hung up. She rang again right away but I didn’t pick up.
