Got a recorded call claiming to be from “your internet service provider,” saying my IP address was “compromised” and to press 1 to “reset and fix it for free.” I pressed 1 and got through to someone who started rattling on about the problem with my IP and told me to make some changes on my computer. I played along for a bit then called them out on the nonsense, and they just dropped the call. After that, I checked the BT website and found their scam reporting page to notify the police. Watch out for this one!
