I didn’t manage to pick up the phone and so my voicemail recorded the message instead. I missed the first part, but it was clear it was a taped message. It claimed that there were two suspicious transactions on my card earlier today. It asked me to press 1 if I approved them or 2 if I wanted to block the payments. As I was only hearing the message on my answerphone, I couldn’t press any buttons. I then looked over my bank statements and there were no such charges at all.

Got a call recently from a local number, thought it might be about a job or something. The guy said he was ringing from a call centre in Manchester, which is like 80 miles away from me. He claimed there was an accident involving a car I supposedly had within the past three years, but I haven’t owned that vehicle for ages, and no accident happened. When I started firing back questions, he just fell silent and then cut off the call. So frustrating!
