9 yearsGot a call super early around 6:50 am from a bloke claiming he was with Windows. I didn’t mess about and told him to do one!9 yearsI received a call from the number 01784279719 on the 24th of August, 2017. An individual with an Asian accent was eager to discuss my "Windows" computer. Feeling a bit mischievous, I asked him which version he was referring to. As an old-school techie, I've got everything from Windows 3.1 all the way up to Windows 10-not that I mentioned that to him! He replied, "the one that uses the Windows operating system". It was clear he was only trying to dig for some personal details! So, I just told him he clearly didn’t know what he was on about and cut the call. He promptly rang me back, questioning why I had hung up! Seriously, can you believe that? Then he had the audacity to say that if I didn’t engage with him, my computer would be rendered unusable. My comeback? “Yeah, right, you’re chatting nonsense.” He quickly grew irate, became quite rude, and threw a fit every time I called his statements "nonsense" before hanging up yet again! Quite amusing, really. It struck me as odd that throughout our chat, he never once mentioned Microsoft!Microsoft9 yearsThey keep ringing but I never pick up.9 yearsA bloke with an Asian accent called saying he was from Microsoft. I decided to mess about a bit and when he asked me to note down a reference code, I just let him rattle off loads of digits and letters. Before I could tell him off properly (not very nicely), he ended the call. These calls are getting ridiculous, and the fact that the number shows up makes it worse. Someone really ought to sort this out.Microsoft9 yearsI got a call from 01784279719 on 24th August 2017. An Asian chap on the line claimed to discuss my “Windows” computer. Just for a laugh, I asked him which version he meant. You see, I'm a bit of a tech buff and have everything from Windows 3.1 to 10, but I kept that bit to myself! He responded with “the one using the Windows operating system.” Clearly trying to pry for details! So, I told him he hadn’t a clue what he was on about and ended the call. Lo and behold, he rang me back asking why I'd hung up! Can you believe it? Then he threatened that my computer would be disabled if I didn’t have a natter with him. I just laughed and replied, “Oh come on, that's nonsense!” He got quite cross, becoming rude and flustered as I dismissed everything he said as “nonsense.” In the end, I hung up on him again-what a laugh! Curiously, he never once mentioned Microsoft. How bizarre!Microsoft9 yearsBT took care of blocking this number on my behalf, I didn't even have to do it myself. The chap on the other end had a charming way of speaking, which makes me think he’s raking it in by duping Windows users out of their hard-earned cash.
