Got a call from a young bloke asking about some loft insulation issues. As soon as I said I wasn’t familiar with it, he just hung up. Seems like he’s just dialing random local numbers hoping to catch someone by surprise.

I received a call from a young chap regarding some issues I’ve been having with my loft insulation. As soon as I mentioned that I wasn’t really familiar with the topic, he promptly ended the call. It’s clear he’s just phoning random locals, hoping to catch someone who's a bit unawares. Quite curious behaviour, if you ask me!

Exercise caution if you receive a call from a seemingly affable young chap. I can't recall him stating which company he represented, but he was quite familiar, addressing me by name. He was keen to discuss the insulation in my attic, allegedly installed under a government initiative, and how it was supposedly leading to condensation and mould issues. He reassured me that they'd dispatch someone today to sort it out. His rapid-fire speech was designed to leave me little room to ponder, clearly an attempt to disorient me. I knew full well my landlord was responsible for the installation, and any genuine concerns would be communicated through proper channels, likely via letter. Thus, I recognised this for the ruse it was and promptly cut the line. It was a rather ingenious approach, and had I been less vigilant or if I had indeed utilised that government scheme, I might have been swayed. With hindsight, perhaps I could have toyed with them, arranging for a visit and notifying the authorities to meet them there. But as I mentioned, their tactic was all about keeping me on my toes. So, take heed!

Got a call from a bloke today who said he was following up about my loft insulation. When i told him i never had any insulation done, he just hung up straight away.
