I just got a ring from 0782 676187, it’s definitely safe. Turns out it’s from the endoscopy team over at Royal Stoke University Hospital. They left me a voicemail after calling, and I made sure the number is legit.

Had a call from some lot claiming to be from Visa or “Bank Security,” saying there’d been dodgy spending on my debit card. They said someone at my local bank might be part of it and pushed me to send money to a “secure” bank account or perform a “test payment,” which is just their trick to nick your funds. Sometimes they even demand you withdraw a big wad of cash and post it to some mule. Total con artists from India trying to pull off this authorised push payment scam.
