I'm currently residing in Spain and hold a Spanish mobile number. I don't have any acquaintances hailing from Ripley. From what I've read, this individual seems to be quite eager for a chat... I've gone ahead and blocked the number altogether.

I picked up the phone, albeit feeling a tad wary, and indulged his inquiries regarding the Covid jab. He claimed he was conducting a survey for the NHS, saying it was a service they were keen to offer. I kept my responses fairly vague. Before I knew it, he was inquiring about whether I possessed a bar code. Then, he pressed on, asking if I’d taken out any insurance against Covid. I replied in the affirmative, despite the truth being otherwise. He was exceedingly persistent in trying to uncover who I was insured with, which raised my suspicions. It struck me that he was likely trying to extract personal information! Please take heed and inform your elderly family members about this.

I got a call from a marketing firm connected to mymobile.net (the place I bought my phone). They offered me an early upgrade, saying I just need to cover the last 3 months of my contract. No upfront cost or anything, they didn't ask for bank info, just confirmed if my details were still the same to keep my EE direct debit going. Was about to cancel after seeing some comments here, but actually I already got my DPD tracking number and the new phone's due tomorrow :) so all in all, pretty good experience for me!

Definitely not a scam!! It’s a marketing firm connected to mymobile.net (which is where I bought my phone). They reached out to offer me an early upgrade if I covered the last 3 months of my contract. No upfront costs, and they didn’t ask for any bank info, just to confirm my details to continue my EE direct debit. I nearly backed out because of the negative reviews here, but I’ve already got my DPD tracking number and the new phone’s due tomorrow, plus I’ve had confirmation of my new EE plan :) all in all, a good experience for me!

I've had a couple of calls come in. I picked one up a couple of days back, but it was just silence on the other end. After about ten seconds, I heard someone clear their throat, yet they didn't utter a word, so I decided to hang up. Just now, I noticed another missed call from the same number this evening.

I've been inundated with around five or six calls daily from these jokers, not to mention the relentless texts promising they'll persist in reaching out. They appear under the name A1 Comms, attempting to con me into a new phone contract. Truth be told, I've had no prior interactions with them and I certainly don’t intend to. It’s best to just block their number and be rid of them altogether.

Not sure if they’re connected to the shop but it feels like harassment. They’ve rung me for the past three days at all sorts of times. Last week I sent them a polite text saying I’m not interested and to stop calling, but they kept at it. Now they’re blocked. Funny to see loads of others saying they’re scammers too. So I got an email yesterday saying they’d ring me today to pitch a free iPhone upgrade. They did ring, but I said no thanks. Then they tried to find out which company I use for my TV and landline. I told them I wasn’t comfortable sharing that info and told them to have a nice day.

They tried to get me by my name, saying they wanted to discuss my phone contract. I didn’t give them any details and asked who they were and which contract they meant. Then the caller got quite snappy, said they'd call back later, and just hung up. They never once said who they were or which company they claimed to be from. Pretty obvious that once they saw I wasn’t going to fall for it, they lost interest.

Got a missed call from a number like "phones[###]", then when I checked my voicemail it showed "07953222222" instead of my usual number. The voicemail message itself had that same number (which I’m commenting about now), and right after, I got a text from "A1 Comms" offering a free upgrade. Was about to tap on it since I actually need an upgrade, but decided against it after reading some of the scams people mentioned here, plus I didn't even get my phone through them!
