Early this morning I got a call from a man with a clear Asian accent, real polite and well spoken. He wanted to have a chat about my home security but I wasn’t giving away any of my private info. Seemed dodgy, like one of those typical scam calls!

I was just sitting there by the landline when it buzzed, but I didn’t pick up. Right after my voicemail finished, the phone stopped ringing and there was no message left. Since the number looked unfamiliar and seeing what others have said, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it and wiped it off my phone.

At first, this woman seemed really knowledgeable on the phone, but the moment I started asking questions, she just hung up on me. She was trying to scare me into thinking I’d lose my FIT tariff if I didn’t get my solar panels checked yearly. Feels like a sneaky way to trick people into getting scammed over and over again. Imagine how many folks fall for this rubbish!

I asked if this was one of those cold calls and she looked a bit confused, so I tried to explain it meant I hadn’t agreed to receive the call. Then she got a bit sharp, said it was from my doctor’s surgery and just ended the call. Maybe she thought I was talking about being unwell or something?
