I received a rather peculiar phone call today. The person on the other end was inquiring about my address, claiming it was for a package that I apparently should be anticipating. There was something about his voice-definitely a hint of an accent that didn’t quite sound local.

I picked up the phone and they just hung up straight away. The day after, they rang back and wanted me to verify my name, but then cut off the call.

So, I got a call from a security company saying they'd send someone round to show me alarms that can alert the cops or fire service automatically if they go off, plus a little personal alarm you wear to ring up the ambulance without having to ring 999. They acted like I couldn’t possibly manage phoning emergency services myself since I’m over 50! Bit insulting if you ask me.
