Got a call about some insurance thing, kept going on about a Hotpoint washing machine. Thing is, I’ve never even owned one of those machines! Sounds like a dodgy insurance scam to me.

I would strongly advise steering clear of this number. I encountered a rather overzealous and aggressive chap on the line who was insistent on enrolling me in a trading programme. He asserted that he was representing a firm called Olimp Finance and continuously boasted about how he'd catapult me to wealth in "no time at all." Definitely not a call worth engaging with!

My BT call guardian is set to block any withheld numbers, and callers have to say who they are before I pick up. So, this number popped up, but when I checked the messages, all I got was these weird double beeps. It was a mobile number, so I phoned back and got an answerphone saying it was Rache from Providence Personal Credits. I don’t know them at all, never been in touch before, so I’m pretty sure it was some sort of marketing or spam call.
