I got a call from someone claiming they’d talked to me about a ‘safe road’ project last year that we supposedly agreed to back. I told them I was on maternity leave at the time and asked if they were sure it was me they spoke with. They confirmed with my name and the company address. They said our logo would go on a safety leaflet, mentioned nearby schools and even named a couple of headteachers. Then they asked for £185, but lowered it to £155 because of Covid.

I had a call about a 'child safety booklet' they wanted to send, sounded dodgy to me. I'd say never say yes or hand over your info, especially your address. Best to just report this sort of thing to actionfraud straight away.

some woman with a thick northern accent called me up saying i’d promised to help fund anti-bullying booklets for schools nearby. sounded proper convincing. i told her i didn’t recall agreeing to anything like that (she kept going on about covid causing delays but also said she had chatted to me about it last year), and mentioned the call was being recorded.
