Some bloke called sayin he was from EDF askin for my meter number. When I started askin about my direct debit and the bill I just got, he got all shifty. I told him he was like the guy who rings me from my local curry shop, which proper annoyed him. I actually enjoy these calls, I always flip it back on them. Come on then, bring it!

Someone rang me up saying they were from British Gas Business, asking for my supply number. I told them I didn’t know it, and then the person started getting quite pushy with me.

Someone rang up pretending to be from SSE, wanted my meter number saying there was a technical issue with their system. When I told them I'd already got an invoice earlier that day without any problems, they got quite insistent and said the problem was actually last Friday!

Total scam, mate. Got a call from someone with a thick Asian accent, and you could hear the buzz of a call centre in the background. He said he was from EDF and there was some issue with my bill. I told him we don't actually use EDF for electricity, but he insisted they were the main provider here. Then he tried to get some personal info from me, and weirdly he already had numbers that matched mine almost exactly. I asked him if he could just email me about it instead, and as soon as I did, he cut off the call. Dodgy as anything!

Got a call from someone saying they were from my energy company. They actually rang a while ago from another number trying to trick me into saying who my supplier was, then used that info to sound legit this time. Definitely don’t share any personal info with them!

Received a call earlier supposedly from British Gas saying there was a mix-up with my business address because of tech problems. I told them I've been at this place for two decades with no changes and asked them to send any info by post. Unsurprisingly, they just hung up on me. When I tried ringing them back, I got some Talk Talk automated message saying my number was blocked. Now I’m gonna try and find out who this bloke is and give him a taste of his own medicine.

Got a call on my work phone from a man claiming there was a problem with my bill and needed info about the MPAN number or something. He was very insistent, an Asian bloke, and started getting a bit loud when I didn’t give him what he wanted right away. I told him I had his number and would call back, which seemed to frustrate him even more. Properly pushy lad, I reckon anyone older or not so confident might fall for it. Total rip-off if you ask me.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with Scottish Power, our energy company. They seemed to know quite a bit, asking me to compare some info with an invoice I had. I started feeling a bit uneasy and told them I wasn’t happy to keep talking. This pushy bloke with an Asian accent then handed me over to his supervisor, who was also Asian. After a while, I said I didn’t want to carry on and ended the call. They phoned back immediately, trying to convince me otherwise. I hung up once more. The next day they rang twice more, and both times I made it clear to stop calling.

Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was with Opus. Said there was some technical glitch and asked me to verify the meter number. If they're really from Opus, why would they need me to confirm that? Total scam if you ask me!

Here we go again with these scammers. Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent, said he needed my meter readings. When I asked where he was calling from, he rattled off the company name so quick I couldn’t catch it. Then he tried to get me to pay a bill I’d never heard of right there on the phone. Asked for some kind of reference and he got all rude, then just hung up. When I tried ringing back, the number was already blocked. Typical scam stuff.

Received a call supposedly from my energy provider but they named a totally different firm. When I said I wasn't interested and asked them to stop bothering me, they got rude and tried ringing back. I've now blocked the number.

Someone rang me saying they were from Utilita, the energy meter firm. They tried to convince me Utilita is connected to British Gas. When I asked for some details to check, they didn't seem to know anything. Bit suspicious if you ask me!

I got a call from some scammer trying to get me to pay my electric bill right over the phone. When I asked for details, the bloke couldn't even tell me who the supplier was or which company he was with. Proper muppet and a right low-life, honestly thick as a brick.
