Got a call from them at 8 in the morning. They wouldn’t properly say who they were except for saying akinika. Just kept shouting abuse, so i told them to find a real job instead of scamming ppl so early. Total jerks. Got a call from this number, didn’t answer, but they left a voicemail saying “this is a message for...” then didn’t say who exactly and asked me to call them back. I rang back and ended up speaking to someone who barely spoke English and refused to explain what their company actually does. I told them to never call me again. Apparently, they claim to be from HMRC and say they collect debts. Funny that, considering I actually got a tax refund this year because I overpaid for a few years. DO NOT SHARE ANYTHING with them. NEVER give out personal info over the phone, no matter what.

A few times now, I've had calls from someone called Akimika asking about my partner, mentioning some private issue. They claimed to be working for Inland Revenue and said they had posted a letter to us - which we did get. I’m not really convinced that’s legit though. This is the sixth call I’ve had so far. When they rang last time, they gave me a phone number and a reference to call back, but I told them to forget it. Lucky I did, really.

No wonder people assume it’s some scam call, it’s all very confusing. I bet they’re just happy to push on with extra fees that crop up when people don’t pay promptly. Just another example of how messed up things are here, such a waste and another daft government mess.
