Got a call from someone claiming to be a mate, saying I'd been in a car crash and even knew my full name.

My other half got a call from a number she didn’t recognise on her phone. She ignored it and later got a voicemail about something to do with double glazing? Seems dodgy, especially after reading how others have had calls about accident claims and similar scams. Got a call from some bloke with a Scouse accent claiming he was from a legal firm, asking about a little accident I supposedly had. I told him nicely he had the wrong details since I never had any accident at all. He said sorry and admitted he was given the wrong info. I had a ring on my phone from this number but chose to let it go to voicemail since I never pick up numbers I don’t know - learnt that the hard way! When I checked the message, the start was missing so I couldn't tell who it was exactly, but it sounded like a robotic voice saying something like, "...just a quick courtesy call; if you'd rather not be contacted, please call 0151 329 0341 to remove your details. Cheers." I just searched that number and it basically tells the same thing. Seems dodgy to me, so best not to answer these. Could very well be some scam going on.

Right from the start, they got my first name right, which was a bit surprising. They said they’d got my info since I’d apparently been in an accident recently - I told them no, that wasn’t true.
