Received a call from a phone number with a local code, with the caller claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and said they needed to verify my info for renewal. They used publicly available details to make the chat seem legit and try to trick me. Got suspicious when they requested my card expiry date to “confirm” who I was, so I hung up. Later looked up the number, found no reports, but noticed a few phishing reports linked to similar 01767 838… numbers, so could be connected. Turns out the official TPS never ask for bank info, so definitely a scam.
