My phone displayed a number starting with 044, right before 0176 223 3140 called me. But when I picked up, there was no one there. Just before that, I got another automated call from 004944 telling me to press 1 or something. Really odd stuff happening.

I got a call from some bloke claiming I’d spent £600 on a Visa transaction overseas. I gave him a fake name and a completely made-up DOB just to see what he’d do next. Then he tried to convince me to give him access to my slow internet banking, saying it might be causing the problem. I ended up wasting nearly 10 minutes messing him about before telling him exactly what I thought of his scam. Funny enough, he hung up right after!
