Trying to get into hardware through remote desktop is seriously risky. Definitely not something I'd recommend doing.

They said they were from Virgin and even gave the name of one of their engineers who was apparently coming to replace my router. Then they asked me to share access to my computer using TeamViewer and wanted me to log into my bank account so they could supposedly refund me. Definitely felt dodgy to me.

This guy called claiming to be from BT, said my computer was infected or hacked or something. Then he somehow got access to my bank account through TeamViewer. Proper scam, total hack job. Can't believe people fall for it.

Somebody rang me pretending to be from BT, but it sounded off. Dunno what they really wanted though.
