Today, 13/06/22, I got a text from 01758719328 claiming to be NatWest while I was working. I decided to pop into my local NatWest branch around 2pm, and they told me straight away it was a scam.

Got a message from NATWEST saying a new payee was added on the 10th of June. I haven't set up any payees recently, so I just ignored the number 01758719328 and didn't ring them back. Seems dodgy to me.

Got a message from NatWest saying a new payee was added on 26/05. If it wasn’t me they told me to ring 01758719328 with ref-af2 right away. Really grateful for this site cos it stopped me from falling for a scam. Cheers for the help, not gonna chase it further now.

I got a text from NATION WIDE saying my one-time code was 783657 for a £405.99 purchase at AMAZON. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with them, so I guess it’s a mistake. Pretty weird, right? If it wasn’t you, apparently they want you to ring 01758719328 ASAP.

I got a text saying something about a one-time code, 783657, for a £405.99 order on Amazon, but it wasn’t me at all. The message told me to ring 01758719328 if I hadn’t made the purchase. I gave the number a ring, but no one answered, so I hung up. A few minutes later, this bloke calls me back claiming he’s from the Nationwide fraud team. I told him I don’t even have an account with Nationwide, and he asked who I bank with. I said that’s none of his business and made it clear he’s not gonna scam me, then told him to never ring me again.

Got a message saying:

I’ve never even used Natwest as my bank, so I’m guessing it’s another one of those phishing scams about Amazon accounts being hacked.
